- Abstract
- In the structure of media preferences of the Russian population, especially in in the age groups under 40, the Internet is gradually replacing traditional media. The main function of the Internet is communication, which is confirmed by the results research. Social networks and blogs are the most popular type of Internet resources. The main barriers to the further expansion of the Internet into the living space of citizens are no longer infrastructural, but competence-based and socio-cultural character.
