- Abstract
- The article is devoted to analysis of problems of social structure and social inequality in the United States. The article presents the views of classics of world sociology and modern, including American scientists on this problem. Taking into account the features of the United States as a classic country of capitalism and its dominant role in the modern world, the article examines the problem of social injustice and inequality that has become more acute in this country. Most attention is paid to the latest works of American authors. The ideology and practice of neoliberalism and monetarism as the main causes of the crisis in the social sphere of America are subjected to substantial criticism. The article States: the socio-economic policy pursued in Russia in recent decades is a cast from the most backward American practices, refuted by science and life; such a policy leads our country to a dead end. Leading US scientists suggest a different way out of the crisis.
