- Abstract
- Based on empirical data, the scale and factors of the spread of distrust in the regional society are investigated. The decrease in trust as the radius of relations increases, the presence of negative experience of interaction with state and municipal authorities are the main barriers to the formation of trust relations in society. The data obtained in the course of the study do not correspond to alarmist expectations about the degradation of social relations in Russian society. The zone of “culture of distrust” does not cover the entire complex of relations at the regional level. However, as in any other case of interpretation of sociological data, it is necessary to take into account the difference between normative, declared attitudes and descriptive assessments that are close to everyday practices.
