Abstract
The article is devoted to the peculiarities of interaction and the problem of differentiation of ethnic groups in the multi-ethnic environment of Bashkortostan. Economic, political, spiritual, ideological and settlement conditions affect the social status and viability of ethnic groups, their ability to maintain their socio-cultural identity, preserve and develop ethnic culture. There are a number of factors that determine ethnic differentiation: language, settlement, economic, etc. Conclusions are drawn about the role of these factors in the differentiation of ethnic groups living in Bashkortostan, and also about the level of differentiation itself.
