- Abstract
- The first results of an interdisciplinary research project on the prospects for the development of the modern Russian Near North (on the example of settlements in the Kostroma region) are presented. The author's conceptualization of these results is generalized by the concept of “cellular globalization". The main research tasks are formulated. The models of economic activity that allow us to escape from the severe aggravation of social problems and demographic extinction of the rural hinterland are outlined.
