- Abstract
- The article considers the value sphere of Russian society, the reasons for concern of our fellow citizens about the prospect of moral degradation of the nation. The relationship between adherence to certain moral norms and following them in everyday life is revealed. It is concluded that the root cause of the crisis it is not so much the moral degradation of society as the growing gap between ethical attitudes and the requirements of the social environment, resulting in many of the basic norms and principles that have recently shaped the life of the individual. practices (hard work, honesty, modesty, etc.) were unclaimed. Their role as motivators of social action is gradually being lost and, on the contrary, a stable stereotype is being formed, especially among youngpeople, according to which success in life and adherence to moral norms in modern Russia are practically incompatible things. The question of expediency and possible forms of state response to this problem is considered. It is emphasized that this is in demand, first of all, in terms of the formation and cultivation of universal, stable bases of social activity, socially approved behaviors based on the principles of social justice. This is the task of a “joint vision” of the state and civil society, where the role of the state should be to develop “common rules of living” and monitor their compliance. State interference in the private life of citizens should occur only where morality ends and the criminal code begins.
