- Abstract
- The article is devoted to the study of modern forms of urbanization, suburbanization and deurbanization. It reveals the versatility of their understandingas a physical movement of the population, as a change in lifestyle, value orientations, including the phenomenon of downshifting. Incomplete urbanization and the polarization of the socio-economic space have generated two powerful opposite flows in Russia: centrifugal seasonal suburban deurbanization and centripetal labor migration of Russian citizens from rural areas from small towns to large urban centers. Both flows are interrelated: the partial replacement of moving to a permanent place of residence in cities by return labor migrations of the population prolongs the life of peripheral settlements, and thehabitability of the latter encourages their suburban use. The article reveals the reasons for departure to Russian cities and the diversity of dachas as a socialphenomenon, their impact on the lifestyle of citizens and rural residents. Use materials of expeditions and research in 2002-2015, including in the framework of the Ugric project Of the community of professional sociologists in the Kostroma region.
