- Abstract
- The article considers the theory of creative altruism by P. A. Sorokin, its Genesis, methodological framework and specifics. Attention is drawn to the difference in the understanding of altruism in pre-revolutionary Russia and in Western Europe. In the concept of creative altruism by P. A. Sorokin, the overlap of the influence of Western rationalistic and Russian ethical and philosophical traditions of considering altruistic behavior is revealed. Modern approaches to altruism and prosocial phenomena are presented.
