- Abstract
- The research was performed using network and regression analysis, biographical interviews, multidimensional scaling, scientometry, etc. A method of latent classes is proposed for analyzing changes in the academic status and measuring the prestige of journal authors. Using the characteristics of gender, academic degree, position in the Academy of Sciences or University, and affiliation, we checked whether sociology really turned into a more professional field thatnomenclature and random people leave. The paper aims to fill a gap in the literature on the development of Soviet sociology during this period.
