- Abstract
- The article provides an overview of approaches to the concept of “identity”; analyzes the consequences of translating this concept from the socio-psychological and socio-cultural sphere into the space of political practice; defines the boundaries of interdisciplinary research of identity. The author concludes that in the modern scientific discourse, the problem of identity has acquired a pronounced interdisciplinary character. Consistency of methodological coordinates becomes the most important condition for the formation of identity theory “essentialism – constructivism " and “individual – collective identity” as a basis for interpreting the subject of research.
