Abstract
To optimize the process of cognition of social phenomena, it is advisable to integrate different research approaches. The possibilities of such a relationship between sociology and history are opened up by interdisciplinary relationships and interdependencies at the empirical and methodological levels. The combination of the two disciplines encountered difficulties and biases, risk factors, and fears, justified and unfounded, on the part of sociologists and historians about the possibility of losing an independent disciplinary approach. status's. The idea of balance between history and sociology, consistency of their epistemological and methodological foundations is defended, which opens up the prospect of improving the process of cognition of social reality.
