- Abstract
- Sociology is undergoing a turn in theory and methodology. A number of well-known sociologists study seemingly trivial phenomena of everyday life; mass surveys give way to deep interpretations, qualitative procedures, focusing on the visible surface of society and using observations and visual sociology. According to the author, this is a clear sign of a truly paradigm shift, a call for a third sociology - after the second sociology of behavior and action, the first sociology of organisms and systems. By focusing on social existence and its manifestations in events, the sociology of social existence provides a new perspective, allowing us to advance our understanding of the mysteries of human society.
