- Abstract
In the year of the 100th anniversary of the Komsomol the paper deals with the specifics of the youth organization of the USSR, shows the features that distinguish the Komsomol from other public organisations of youth. The importance of the Komsomol in the construction of the socialist society in the USSR, its role in the formation of the heroic type of personality of the young man is emphasized. It is shown that in modern economic, social and political conditions of Russia the revival of the organization similar to the Komsomol is impossible. The results of a survey of today’s youth in 15 regions of the country are presented, it is demonstrated that although the Komsomol is a thing of the past, attempts to belittle and distort its role have failed, the new generation is positive or neutral towards the Komsomol.
