Abstract
The article considers the main aspects of foreign direct investments inflows (FDI) in African countries. Analyzed are trends and perspectives of total FDI inflow in sub regions and individual countries of the continent. Significant attention is given to both traditional FDI flows to capital-intensive extractive industries and flows to services sector (banks, retail and telecommunications) that maintain fast-growing middle class. Reviewed are the problems of forming investment policy in African countries that will be oriented to attract private investment business from abroad.
