- Abstract
- The article presents a comparative analysis of the processes of social-economic and political transformation in the Socialist Albania and other countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe in the 1980-1990s. The author considers main trends, typical for the Albanian society in the late 1980s, follows the main directions of transition from the totalitarian to capitalist social-economic model and its specifi c features in comparison with Poland and other states of the Eastern Block. The author characterizes thoroughly the evolutionally path of reforms chosen by the Albanian leadership and the offi cial approach of the PLA to the events in the USSR, Poland, Czechoslovakia and other socialist countries in the 1980-1990s.
