Abstract

The article is devoted to the US women’s health policy and practice of pregnancy termination. The author shows the history of the formation of the abortion system’s legal regulation in the United States, analyzes the main arguments of anti-abortion movement (Pro-Life movement), and abortion movement (Pro-Choice movement). It is emphasized that since 2017 in the USA there has been a sharp spike of interest in abortion issues and its legal regulation. This is largely due to the extreme anti-abortion policy of D.Trump, his misogynistic, according to some liberal American Mass-medias, rhetoric. Moreover, since 2017 many states have passed laws that restrict access to abortion. The abortion issue and the Hyde amendment, which blocks federal funds from being used to pay for abortion, in particular, has become one of the central topics of the Democratic party candidates during the presidential campaign 2019-2020.
