- Abstract
- This article analyzes the peculiarities of developing the labour market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the outcomes of this process for the EEU and Russia. Based on the rich empirical and information research database, the article shows the role of the labour market for Eurasian integration and reveals the essence and peculiarities of building the integrated labour markets. It is proved that the free movement of capital, services and labour has not changed the migration situation and the mobility of citizens within the EEU, but they have enhanced labour mobility and changed its structure. It is shown that the Russian labour market has become the EEU main labour market; however, its structural changes are within the national safety indicators of Russia. The basic features of migrants’ social profile from the EEU countries were considered. Immediate and distant prospects for the citizens’ mobility from the EEU member states are discussed. The weaknesses in providing conditions for the free movement of labour and common labour market creation dealt with the regulatory, organizational, managerial, and psychological barriers were identified. It is stated that the labour market of the Eurasian Economic Union is still under development, and the regulation of the social, labour, and migration aspects is not yet satisfactory for the Union working people to enjoy the benefits of the integration fully. It is proved that if the labour market trends are being preserved, labour mobility from the EEU member States to the Russian Federation will probably remain. The Russian labour market will become more and more closed for those countries, which are not the EEU members and the free movement of labour will be a privilege for the Union citizens.
