- Abstract
- The article deals with the specifics of localization of civil participation practices in modern Russian society. It is shown that the civil activity as a certain General characteristic of society is unevenly distributed among various social strata and groups, whose representatives have different assessments of both the degree of relevance of the problems they face and the effectiveness of their participation in solving them. Practices that contain opportunities for informal self-expression, self-realization, and initiative are more localized among young, educated, urbanized, and mobile populations. Institutional and conventional forms civil participation is localized among representatives of older generations, residents of the hinterland.
