Abstract

The article presents the attitude to the social structure of the people with one of the longest democratic traditions in Central and Eastern Europe. Against the background of the dynamics of mass political views and orientations before and after the revolution of 1989, the invariability of social preferences is revealedthe “Czech man", his mentality. Particular attention is paid to the difficulties in forming civil society in the Czech Republic (CR).
