- Abstract
- A modified view of the allocation of macro -, meso - and micro-levels of social analysis is proposed, due to the development of the institutional approach in sociology and Economics. It is shown that in a number of studies, the meso-level is understood as a space for the formation of rules and as these rules themselves, on the basis of which microsubjects of various kinds interact. As a result, they generate macrostructures that have their own properties that are not reducible to the properties of their constituent elements. The new understanding of the meso-level provokes to Supplement the set of known prerequisites of social analysis (methodological individualism and holism) with the principle of methodological institutionalism. Its content, as well as areas of application, are discussed in the article.
