Abstract
The processes of development of modern sociology are considered. The objective differences in its position in the regions of the world create a background of clashes between sociologists on the problems of science and society. The leading role is played by the involvement of sociologists in the formation of the image of the "other" world. The role of countries that are considered to be the "third world"is increasing. This situation "invites"sociologists to monitor the changes taking place in the world, their reflection in science, in research and in the works of scientists.
Keywords
international sociology, sociology of the world's regions, conflicts in sociology, the possibility of a "different" world, sociology of the " third world"
