Abstract
The Central aspects of modern research in science and technology (STS – science & technology studies), which grew out of the sociology and philosophy of science and technology, are revealed. The publication is part of a study of the practices of constructing scientific facts in Russian and American biological laboratories.2 An overview of works on STS is given, recent changes in this discipline are described, and possible changes in networks for the production of scientific knowledge identified by empirical research are considered.
