Abstract
The authors of this study develop the idea of the cyclical development of cities/ towns. A number of examples demonstrate the ratios of the number of population to sigma curve. In the course of analysis of the final stage of the urban development the concept of the "demographic death" of a city/town has been introduced. The calculations has been made on the critical ratios of the age groups applicable to this situation. In conclusion the authors consider demographic conditions for the towns' regeneration.
