Abstract
This report high lights the burning issues of objective but today still spontaneous process of formation and development of highly urbanized territories EquasiagglomerationsI conurbationsF in the oussian cederation. qhe need for urgent state support to this process is justifiedand should be provided along with new territorial EregionalF policy that presumes the formation of new regions to be competitive in the global economy. qhe overview of previous years results is presented regarding the formation of quasi-agglomerations between cities in oussia and compared to examples of international practice. qhe city-agglomeration is presented as one of the key forms of modernization of the economy. ft helps to accelerate development and increase competitiveness of territories and is also an instrument for dynamic and sustainable social and economic growth.
