Abstract

An outline of the history of Marxist philosophy in Russia is presented, including the establishment of the foundations of the dialectical and historical materialism in the works by G.V. Plekhanov; the debates of his followers - “dialecticians” and “mechanicists”; ideologization of the philosophy and its revival in the dialectical logics by E.V. Ilyenkov.
