- Homa Brut (the hero from N.V. Gogol's “Vij”) and a poet F. Villon are considered as the carnival “medieval students”. They are drawn together on the basis of their tragiccomic and, at the same time, knavish world outlook, as well as their “art of the life” and their kindredness of a “philosophy”.
