Abstract
The process of appearance of symbolic gestures in the dances of ancient ancestors of Gagauzes as well as those gestures transformation under various epochs are traced, based on archaeological and ethnological materials of Eurasia. For example, after adoption of Christianity the plastique of dance movements of Gagauz's nationality that had been formed in "the Balkan cauldron" was subdued to the new canons of interpretation that "sublated" the semantic significance of primeval symbols. Under the impact of globaliza? tion the dance movements have turned into kinetic ornament with its art significance defined by creative individuality of the choreographer. A similar process is typical one for some dances of many other nations.
