Abstract
The ideas related to the «person» or «hypostasis» by three Russian philosophers of the Silver age are presented. Each one uses the concepts of patristic theology in his own way. Many of the provisions of those philosophers, especially the opposition between “the hypostasis” (or “the person”) and “the individual” in the context of aviological, and sometimes ontological, priority of the first, became a distinctive feature of Orthodox personalism of the ХХ century. The merit of the philosophers’ thoughts is the fact that they have prompted many Orthodox thinkers, including V. N. Lossky, to refer to the patristic heritage in their search of answers to the questions raised in their compositions.
