Abstract
Building on 2010 large-scale polling data the author considers the Russians attitudes to modernization policy proclaimed. It was found that no more than one fourth of the respondents support the idea. Nevertheless, the people retain some impulse that one could describe as a will to modernization. It could lead to some positive shifts the necessary conditions provided.
