Abstract
As in "pure" linguistics, in the modern psycholinguistic world there is a division of researchers into two scientific camps: supporters of the "language as action" and "language as a product" traditions. However, in contrast to "pure" linguistics, among psycholinguists, the direction of research that unites researchers of both traditions is gaining more and more popularity, namely, the method of recording eye movements "Visual World". In this review, we will show the possibilities that this new methodology provides to psycholinguists and "pure" linguists using several specific examples, taken both from the field of speech production and from the field of speech understanding.
