- Abstract
-
The article presents the outcome of five field trips to Tanzania undertaken in 2010-2012 in order to conduct anthropological research among the Indian diaspora members. The Indian diaspora is a closed and self-sustaining yet not internally homogeneous system. The immigrants from India identify themselves as an independent community neighboring with the local African populations. The research results testify to the continued preservation and maintenance of traditional culture among the Indian diaspora members.
