- Abstract
- The article examines the notions of week days among Eastern Slavic peoples. The author surveys an array of ethnographic sources throwing light on the subject, and discusses the principal criteria shaping the semantics of week days in the traditional culture. She further explores the ways in which the semantic load of any given week day could be changing within the timeframe of calendar year.
