- Abstract
- The authors subject the data on 47 samples of the Japanese, which had been studied in the middle of the twentieth century and presented in a publication by M.G. Levin in 1971, to further investigation with the help of canonical discriminant analysis. Despite all the similarities among different groups of the Japanese, the results reveal, as the authors demonstrate in this article, eight distinct anthropological variants that relate to particular geographical areas.
