- Abstract
- The article analyses the texts of Bulgarian and Serbian curses, which mention the motives of eyes and eyesight. The meaning of curses is explored from the point of views, which particular harm connected with eyesight are typical for the South Slavs. By means of a «visual» code one allegorically (referring to blindness, invisibility, numerous allusions on the funeral ritual) wishes to the cursed one an excruciating death and unhappy being beyond grave.
