Abstract

The article describes the coronation of Nicolas I as the king of Poland in May 1829 in Warsaw. Polish observers were drawing attention to the falsity of this ceremony, while Russian subjects of the emperor considered the very fact of the coronation unnecessary and considered it as a concession to the Poles and Catholic clergy.
