- Abstract
- The relevance of the issue of identity was vividly demonstrated at the next meeting of the United Nations RAS Scientific Council "New Ideas in Sociological Theory and Social Practice" held on February 10, 2025 at the Institute of Sociology of FCTAS RAS. Reports by M.F. Chernysh, as well as speeches by discussants Yu.V. Popkov and S.A. Lyaushev, were presented. Theoretical-methodological approaches, agents and subjects of identity, diverse forms of its manifestation and interpretation were discussed. The discussion showed the ambiguity of the concept and the complexity of measuring identity in sociological practice.
